Meet Debbie (and others!) on Monday...

It's Monday evening here...the house is quiet and I think that Dr. House is about to start so I'll get this week's meme from Java over at Never Growing Old up and on its way.
If you want to answer the questions, please do.
Getting to know each other is what makes this whole blogging thing just a
little bit better.

Here we go:

1. Crunchy or smooth peanut butter?

*and really....we have this tub, right now, in our cabinet...it's the one we jokingly refer to as
"the jar as big as Koji's head"  jar of peanut butter....it doesn't come
any smaller at CostCo.*

2. What is your favorite color Rose?
Though roses of yellow or pink will make me happy,
sterling ones? Yeah. they make me swoon.

3. Do you remove your shoes when you walk into your home?
Do not take this sarcastic, but...hello?
I live in Japan.
In the 20 years I've lived here, I can honestly tell you that maybe...maybe ...I've left my shoes on less than 10 times.  But....as I was probably wearing lace-up shoes and I had left my coffee or cell phone on the table, I always said an apology to whatever Gods were standing over me.  But, as I'm pretty sure they understood how I feel about my coffee and cell phone, I've been let off the hook.
The entrance way in our house....

4. What is your favorite season?

5. Approximately how many hours a day do you spend blogging?
The answer to this question varies.
My family will say "too many"....and sometimes, I think, "not enough".
Actually....these days, I've become a bit of a slacker, so it's probably closer
to an hour or so a day.

Have a great Monday....and may it be a sign for what the week will bring.

Down in these parts (Tejas) I love fall because I welcome a relief from the heat. Even though the fall doesn't feel much like a true fall and I get frustrated and nostalgic for the falls back in the northeast.

As for peanut butter, it's crunchy all the way, baby!

Shoes left on, always. only time I like walking barefoot in the house is when my feet are really hot (stained concrete floors). Do you go through a lot of socks in Japan? Or do you have indoor shoes / slippers?

i'm with you on your thoughts on fall...same goes here, but spring just has so much color and smells so pretty!!!

almost everyone has, in their genkans (entranceway) four or five pairs of slippers for guests to wear in the houses....adults and some kids have their own slippers that they wear on the hard floors...slippers are traditionally not worn on the tatame (woven)mats, but here in the Kuroiwa house, we do. the boys have slippers they wear in the winter, mainly because it's so damn cold here....seriously...cold air breezing in from Lord only knows where all the time. most houses also have separate slippers for the toilet (again, NOT here at our house!). when the weather gets warmer, the sox come off pretty much as soon as the boys walk in the house (they HAVE to wear sox to school...no sandals). i wear my handwoven slippers that are just wonderful pretty much from April-October (must get a new pair made...the ones i have now are just about to fall apart!!)

a little extra info about slippers here....even in schools, visitors must take off their shoes in the entrance and put on plastic slippers, provided by the school. (students have special school shoes they wear!!) i have this thing about putting my feet into shoes that i don't know who had them on last, so, i always carry my own slippers for schools and many dr's offices.
